4:11 Do not speak evil against one another, brethren. He that speaks evil against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 4:12 There is one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you that you judge your neighbor? | 4:11 Don't
speak evil against each other, my dear brothers and sisters.F14
If you criticize each other and condemn each other, then you are criticizing
and condemning God's law. But you are not a judge who can decide whether
the law is right or wrong. Your job is to obey it. 4:12God alone, who made
the law, can rightly judge among us. He alone has the power to save or
to destroy. So what right do you have to condemn your neighbor?
FOOTNOTES: F14: Greek brothers. |
4:11 Do not criticize one another, my friends. If you criticize or judge another Christian, you criticize and judge the Law. If you judge the Law, then you are no longer one who obeys the Law, but one who judges it. 4:12 God is the only lawgiver and judge. He alone can save and destroy. Who do you think you are, to judge someone else? |
