oujde; kaivousin luvcnon kai; tiqevasin aujto;n uJpo; to;n movdion ajll j ejpi; th;n lucnivan, kai; lavmpei pa'sin toi'" ejn th'/ oijkiva/.

Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

Kai; e[legen aujtoi'", Mhvti e[rcetai oJ luvcno" i&na uJpo; to;n movdion teqh'/ h] uJpo; th;n klivnhn; oujc i&na ejpi; th;n lucnivan teqh;

And he said to them,
"Is a lamp brought in to be put under a bushel, or under a bed, and not on a stand?

Oujdei;" luvcnon a&ya" eij" kruvpthn tivqhsin Íoujde; uJpo; to;n movdionÑ ajll j ejpi; th;n lucnivan, i&na oiJ eijsporeuovmenoi to; fw'" blevpwsin.

"No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a bushel, but on a stand, that those who enter may see the light.

Oujdei;" de; luvcnon a&ya" kaluvptei aujto;n skeuvei h] uJpokavtw klivnh" tivqhsin, ajll j ejpi; lucniva" tivqhsin, i&na oiJ eijsporeuovmenoi blevpwsin to; fw'".

"No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, that those who enter may see the light.
