Procedure for Submitting
Paper Topic Requests
last revised: 1/13/00
-
Check the list and decide on your first three
preferences for a passage to study.
-
Verify that your choices are still possible by
going to the PAPER ASSIGNMENTS page for your course and section. Those
listings in red bold print have already been
assigned and are no longer options.
-
Click on
to send your paper topic request to me via e-mail. Make sure to
include the following items in the e-mail:
-
Very critical: in the Subject
field list the appropriate course number and
appropriate section number, as is listed in the schedule
of classes: e.g., R101K,
R102J, R304M, R305B, R305A2 G202etc. The Tues/Thurs
sections for the fall semester are 8:00, R101J and 10:25, R101K.
-
In the text window:
-
List your 1st, 2nd, 3rd preferences (and heading
if listed).
-
List your name (and e-mail address if different
from where the e-mail is sent)
-
If you have difficulty getting the e-mail to work, an
alternative is to send the request via fax at 704 434-5618.
Note:
sometimes the Microsoft Internet Explorer and older versions of other web
browsers don't get along well with the mailto: structure set up in the
above e-mail icon for automatically generating an e-mail reply. If that
happens to you, the alternative e-mail procedure is to click on the new
message icon inside the e-mail part of your web browser. The above listed
information needs to be included. Additionally, the correct e-mail address
to be typed in is cranford@shelby.net.
-
This should be turned in immediately!
-
The cut off point for getting your request submitted
is the end of the second week of classes. Once the cut off time has passed,
you will arbitrarily be assigned a passage.
-
You assignment will be posted on this web site
under the appropriate course listing. Once you have been given an assignment,
you will receive a e-mail reply to the address you sent the e-mail from
confirming your assignment.
-
Assignments are posted daily
around 5:00 pm until the final assignments are made at the end of the second
week of classes in the regular terms; check after 5:00 pm to see whether
your paper topic request submitted within the past 24 hours has been posted.
