My name is David Norris, but you may hear my wife call me "Lee."
That is because my father's name is also David. I grew up in northern
Greenville County of the upstate of SC. I became a Christian at the
age of 7. The Lord blessed me with Christian parents and a wonderful
homelife. I suppose most people would call that "perfect" these days.
Anyway, when I was a sophomore in high school I felt called into full time ministry. I did not know specifically what kind and still am not sure of the direction He has me in. I attended public schools and graduated in 1994. I then attended The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. I graduated in 1998 with a B.S. in Business Administration. I received the rank of cadet major (Regimental Religious Officer) my senior year and had the wonderful opportunity to work under the direction of Chaplain Colonel Charles T. Clanton USA (ret.), one of the most well known Army chaplains of his time. I had plans of attending Southwestern Theological Seminary upon graduation, however, the Lord allowed me to get married instead. I recently got married, March 27, 1999. My wife (Melissa) is a graduate of GWU and encouraged me to look at the Divinity School there. Upon graduation from college I got a job working for Heritage Community Services, a non-profit organization in SC. This organization works under state and federal grants to teach character-based abstinence education to middle and high school students. However, I may be moving to AllState Ins. working in there regional offices in Greenville. I work full-time with the ministry goal of obtaining my MDiv. and either becoming a pastor or seminary professor. Some of my interests are: rugby, cars, and history - guy stuff. I'm looking forward to this class, if I can ever become comfortable with the internet stuff. |
