1.  Topic 2.1 Question:
Choose one of the five modern interpretative approaches (from topics 2.1.1 through 2.1.5) and critically evaluate the interpretative approach. This includes discussing (1) the history and origin of the methodology, (2) indication of individuals who have made significant contributions to the methodology, and (3) detailed discussion of how this methodology impacts modern NT gospel studies.  For sources, use the iPreach materials including the Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible, general articles in both the Interpreter's Bible commentary and the New Interpreter's Bible commentary, and relevant articles in Kümmel's NT Intro. Other sources may also be used, but the above are required sources.

3. Topic 2.2.2 Question:

Choose one of the three synoptic gospels and do the following:
a) From the discussion of this gospel in the iPreach sources in Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible, Kümmel's NT Intro, Reddish's Intro to the Gospels, and relevant articles in the various iPreach commentaries, form a listing of the key themes discussed by these sources.
List these key themes here.

b) Using an online concordance such as BST or All-in-One Bible Resources trace out the uses of the key words in your selected gospel in three different English translations (types 1, 2, & 3 translations).
List the verses (references and text) here along with brief comments about each verse.
 
 

c) Discuss the understanding of these key themes in light of your study in the above two points (3. a & b).
