2 oJ de; ajpokriqei;" ei\pen aujtoi'", Íjjjjjjjjj jOyiva" genomevnh" levgete, Eujdiva, purravzei ga;r oJ oujranov" 3 kai; prwi?, Shvmeron ceimwvn, purravzei ga;r stugnavzwn oJ oujranov".  to; me;n provswpon tou' oujranou' ginwvskete diakrivnein, ta; de; shmei'a tw'n kairw'n ouj duvnasqe;Ñ 
4 Genea; ponhra; kai; moicali;" shmei'on ejpizhtei', kai; shmei'on ouj doqhvsetai aujth'/ eij mh; to; shmei'on jIwna'.  kai; katalipw;n aujtou;" ajph'lqen. 
2 He answered them, "When it is evening, you say, `It will be fair weather; for the sky is red.'  3 And in the morning, `It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. 
4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah." So he left them and departed.

54 #Elegen de; kai; toi'" o[cloi", &Otan i[dhte Íth;nÑ nefevlhn ajnatevllousan ejpi; dusmw'n, eujqevw" levgete o&ti #Ombro" e[rcetai, kai; givnetai ou&tw" 
55 kai; o&tan novton pnevonta, levgete o&ti Kauvswn e[stai, kai; givnetai.  
56 uJpokritaiv, to; provswpon th'" gh'" kai; tou' oujranou' oi[date dokimavzein, to;n kairo;n de; tou'ton pw'" oujk oi[date dokimavzein;
54 He also said to the multitudes, "When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, `A shower is coming; and so it happens. 
55 And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, `There will be scorching heat; and it happens.  
56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky; but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?
