    8.4      And
when a large crowd had come together
                        and
                           from one town after another
                   they were coming
                           to him,
(A)     he said
              through a parable,

 (1)8.5                         The sower went out
                                             to sow his seed.

                                     And
                                       while he was sowing
 (2)                            one fell
                                       by the path,
                                     and
 (3)                            --- was trampled under foot
                                     and
 (4)                            the birds of the air completely ate it.

    8.6                              And
 (5)                            another fell down
                                           upon a rock,
                                     and
                                      when it came up
 (6)                            it withered
because it did not have moisture.

    8.7                              And
 (7)                            another fell
                                           in the middle of thorns
                                     and
 (8)                            the thorns choked it.

    8.8                              And
 (9)                            another fell
                                           into the good ground,
                                     and
                                      when it came up
(10)                            it bore fruit
                                           hundredfold.

              After saying these things
(B)     he declared,
He who has ears to hear
(11)                let him hear.

-----------------------------------

    8.101    And
(C)     he said,

    8.11             And
(12)            this is the parable;

(13)            the seed is the word of God.

    8.12             And
(14)            those by the path are those
                                         who hear,
                     then
(15)            the devil comes
                     and
(16)            he takes away the word
                       from their heart

                                    having believed
                       lest they are saved.

    8.13             And
(17)            those on the rock are the ones
                                                    when they hear
                                                    with joy
                                             who welcome the word,
                     and
(18)            these do not have root,

                          for a time
                   who believe
                            and
                          in a time of testing
                   --- abandons his faith.

    8.14             And
                that which fell
                              into thorns,
(19)           these are those
                            who heard
                    and
                        by cares
                                and
                           riches
                                and
                           pleasures of life
                       while going
(20)           they are choked
                    and
(21)           ---- bring no fruit to maturity.

 8.15               But
                that in the good soil,
(22)           these are those
                                   in good and true heart
                                   after having heard the word
                            who hold it fast,
                                     and
                            --- bear fruit
                                   with steadfastness.
