    9.14       Then
(A)       the disciples of John came to him
                                   saying,
 (1)                                      Why do we and the Pharisees fast
                                               often,
                                               and
 (2)                                      your disciples do not fast?

    9.15       And
(B)       Jesus said
                   to them,
 (3)                       The sons of the bridechamber cannot mourn, can they?
while the bridegroom is with them
                                But
 (4)                       there will be days
                                        when the bridegroom is taken
                                                              from them
                                and
                                   then
 (5)                       they will fast.

     9.16                       And
 (6)                       no one puts a patch of new cloth
                                     on an old garment,
                                for
 (7)                       the patch of new cloth tears
                                                     from the garment,

                                and
 (8)                       the tear becomes worse.

     9.17                       Neither
 (9)                       do they put new wine
                                      into old wine skins;
                                but
                                             if so
(10)                       the wine skins burst
                                and
(11)                       the wine is spilled out
                                and
(12)                       the skins are lost;
                                rather
(13)                       they put new wine
                                   into new wine skins,
                                and
(14)                       both are preserved.
