Notes:

• The course is designed to operate in either a Mac or PC environment.
• The preferred internet browser is the Netscape Communicator 4.61, because the Microsoft Internet Explorer has limitations and bugs that limit its capabilities working in the Lotus LearningSpace environment. These limitations are not as restrictive when working directly in Cranfordville.
• You will need to download and install on your computer the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software before the beginning of class; it can be obtained at http://www.adobe.com. Make sure that you have at least version 3.0, but preferrably the latest 4.0 version.
• The completion of the homework assignments will need to be done using one of the three following word processing softwares: Microsoft Word, Lotus Word Pro, or Word Perfect. Other software formats will create nightmares for me to receive and grade your assignments. The GWU bookstore has this software available at a greatly reduced academic version price. I use the Lotus Word Pro software on my systems.
• The availability of an audio/video hardware and software is purely optional. For those who do have this equipment and experience in using it, we can design some additional activities to enhance the learning experience.
